Blog:

I travel the world in search of stories about people, places, sounds, and nature that can be portrayed in my studio. Each of us sees the world differently through personal experience, which is why I strive to record my own experiences on paper, to freeze the moment in time.

Rhythm & Flow
September 4, 2017

Over the summer I worked on exploring and experimenting with composition and colour, sharing very little with others and trying to ride the ‘production wave’ to the max. Now that winter is around the corner I’ve slowed down and took this as an opportunity to reflect. I’ve finished over 20 new paintings, which look like an entirely new body of work. Most of it is abstract and is quite different to what I used to do a year ago.

Abstract Process
March 26, 2017

After years of painting I can confidently attest to the fact that producing art is a lot like being an athlete. It requires dedication, thorough technique, discipline and experimentation. Although its hard to say which component is more important, the experimenting part is definitely vital if you want to keep on growing.

Getting Back to It
February 12, 2017

The last year has been a lot about new beginnings. I’ve started teaching full time in September and I must admit that painting was pushed to the background a little. Although I’m constantly searching for new inspiration and ideas to channel  into my work it has been quite challenging to keep both of my occupations equally productive.

From Mind to Paper

June 04, 2016 in Personal, Painting, Gallery

What I do for a living  is very strange. I spend hours creating semi abstract images on paper that reflect moments and feelings. Sometimes inspiration hits hard and I start getting ideas out of nowhere in my mind and the urge to put it on paper is a priority. The past few weeks where exactly that. I was so mesmerized by the blooming spring, although spring lasts about 15 minutes nowadays it was enough time to take it all in and produce fresh work.

For those of you who might be visit Saint Petersburg, you can pop into an amazing place called Demetra Art Hotel, aside from being a heritage building and a romantic getaway spot, they have my new collection hanging in their art gallery for display until August. Thank you guys!
