About me

Nelly is a freelance painter and a printmaker who focuses on creating expressive, coloufull pieces, chasing the elusive balance of curious and familiar. 

“My fundamental motivation to paint is derived from the surprise element of the open-ended process. The marks I make are a combinations of freedom and intent that add up to a contemporary painting. My work is a visual response to the experiences I live through and the accumulation of emotionas translated into colour, shape and gesture. As an artist I like the idea of slowing down the viewer, so they can't simply glance and believe they've ascertained the essence of the piece. I want my pieces to reveal gradually, inviting the viewer to return and fall in love all over again.”

As an artist, I yearn for growth and try new methods to test my voice. My work is ever evolving and you can expect to discover new patterns, shapes and symbols with each new series. Im pleased to release new work into the world created on canvas using acrylics click here to view pieces. 

COMMISSIONS

I am mindful of what the client wants from art and I do my best to make something that fits their aesthetic. My end goal is for my clients to fall in love with the art I create for them. 

Commissions are priced at 20% more than retail prices.
